Kobe Bryant, Daughter Gianna Laid To Rest Two Weeks After Tragic Deaths

Kobe Bryant and his daughter, Gianna, are at peace.

ET reported on Tuesday (February 11) that the late, great NBA titan and his 13-year-old daughter were laid to rest last Friday. Their private funeral, which took place in Corona Del Mar, California, comes just two weeks after the pair, alongside Christina Mauser, John Altobelli, Keri AltobelliAlyssa AltobelliSarah ChesterPayton Chester and pilot Ara Zobayan, , passed away in a helicopter died in a helicopter crash. The group was traveling to a basketball tournament at Kobe's Mamba Sport Academy on January 26. "Vanessa and the family wanted a private service to mourn their loss," a source told ET. "The ceremony was extremely hard for everyone as it's still hard for them to grasp they lost two beautiful souls."

While the ceremony was private, fans of the fallen player will be able to remember his legacy at a public memorial on February 24 at the Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. "We are one city that believes in each other, believes in something bigger than ourselves," Mayor Eric Garcetti said. "We will absolutely do everything to make sure that this is done so that everybody can come to it as well."
